Hurricane News

April 30 – May 6, 2023 is Hurricane Preparedness Week in Texas.

The Atlantic Hurricane Season begins June 1 and ends November 30. During these months, Texas is more susceptible to powerful and destructive tropical storms and hurricanes.

We encourage everyone to assemble a disaster supply kit of important emergency supplies including a first aid kit, a NOAA Weather Radio or battery-operated radio, flashlight, medication, non-perishable food items, and bottled water. Be aware of where the nearest storm shelter is located, know where you and loved ones will go if an evacuation is necessary, and develop an emergency plan for communicating with family and friends. We invite you to take this time to promote awareness, preparedness, and mitigation measures to help prevent and reduce loss of life and property.
